Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Pax platform operated by Pax ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Pax. By using the service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account or use another person's account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you create on Pax, including pieces, takes, and media uploads. By posting content, you grant Pax a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and store your content as needed to operate the platform.

This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except for content that has been incorporated into aggregated summaries or shared by other users before deletion.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or obscene
• Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the platform for spam, phishing, or distributing malware
• Attempt to circumvent content moderation systems
• Interfere with the platform's operation or other users' access
• Use automated tools to scrape content or create accounts

5. Content Moderation

Pax uses automated systems to moderate content and enforce these Terms. Content flagged by automated systems may be removed or restricted. Repeated violations may result in temporary or permanent account suspension.

Pax also uses automated tools to generate discussion summaries and extract topic tags from pieces. By posting content, you acknowledge that your content may be processed by third-party services for these purposes.

We reserve the right to remove any content or suspend any account at our discretion, though we strive to apply these policies fairly and consistently.

6. Sparks and Payments

Pax uses sparks for certain features such as connection requests. Sparks are purchased through Mollie and are non-refundable except as required by law. We reserve the right to modify pricing with reasonable notice.

Payment processing is handled by Mollie. By making a purchase, you agree to Mollie's terms of service in addition to these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property

The Pax platform, including its design, code, branding, and features, is owned by Pax and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without our written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

Pax is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pax and its team from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation.

11. Modifications to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Pax at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by posting the updated Terms on this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if necessary, the courts of Luxembourg.
